As we head into the uncharted waters of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tortoise Industries, Inc. would like to insure you we are acting in the best interest of the health of our employees, customers, vendors and community partners.
We are taking steps at our facility to protect everyone as best as possible by cleaning surfaces multiple times a day, insuring employees practice appropriate hand washing techniques, as well as doing our part to increase social distancing by limiting our hours of operation as well as restricting walk-in clientele.
Please understand we are doing our best to balance the needs of our customers and the health and safety of our team, but in the end, health and safety is paramount.
Until further notice Tortoise will not be accepting walk in clients from the public. All clients and potential clients are requested to communicate via email, phone or appropriate social media avenues.
In addition, hours of operation will be limited to Monday – Wednesday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. This will allow our employees affected by the LAUSD closure to assist and care for their family and children as well as limit our daily exposure to potential contaminants.
While these changes in our daily routine may be inconvenient or create a financial burden for our businesses and families, we have to remember this is a temporary situation and our lives and the world will eventually return to “normal.” We must act now to help to protect the most vulnerable of our population and take responsibility as business people and community leaders.
I am very confident that empathy and compassion will prevail over apathy and indifference and the best attributes of our society will be spotlighted during this time of need.
Stay safe and be kind,
Steve Shatkin, President
Tortoise Industries, Inc.
